DEVELOPING UNITS OF WORK
LET´S WORK TOGETHER!!
➽ STEP 1
Watch a video about different people asking for their food in a Russian restaurant. There are people from different countries. Some people are native speakers of English and other are not. Pay attention to each couple or group and the phrases they use. Are they different or repeated? Which phrases can you spot?
➽ STEP 2
Now, listen carefully to these people interacting with the waiter and complete the missing words.
Once you complete it, read it aloud. Practise it with your partner. Exchange roles.
➽ STEP 3
Listen to people deciding what they are going to eat. Pay attention to the way they speak. Are they the same? Can you distinguish different accents?. Where are they from?
➽ STEP 4
Listen to again the previous audio and write down the expressions they use to compare food and prices. Note the different intonation paterns for each question. Are they going up or down?
➽ STEP 5
Collect all the useful phrases you have heard and have written, and write your own script for a dialogue restaurant scene.
➽ STEP 6
Act the script you have written with your classmates and create your own video. Upload it on the school's blog and have fun!
